Scout Report - Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres' time with Atletico Madrid could well be up, with him falling down the pecking order and also the Spanish striker Diego Costa soon to be arriving. Fernando Torres has put MLS Clubs on red alert.

This is following on from the fact that he is out of favour at Atletico, falling down the pecking order, Torres has put as many as three top MLS franchises on alert for his services.
This would not be a surprising move for Fernando Torres, given that the Spanish striker is 33 years old and coming into the "winter" of his footballing career. Clubs like New York City FC, LAFC and Orlando City SC are all on the lookout for another DP signing for next season.

THE HISTORY

Torres started his professional career with Atletico Madrid in 2001 having progressed from its youth academy between 1995 - 2001. He would score 82 goals in 214 appearances.
From Atletico Madrid from 2007 - 2011, he would move to Liverpool in the Premier League, scoring 65 goals in 102 appearances "The Reds" being named in the FIFPro World XI in 2011.
Fernando Torres at International level has received many awards, namely winning the UEFA Euro's in 2008 / 2012 and World Cup in 2010. Also, he and Spain finished runners up in the 2009 and 2013 Confederations Cup.

But he struggled to establish himself under Simeone this season, featuring falling behind the strikers currently in Madrid. Namely, calls for a possible move to MLS being mentioned.

THE PROSPECTS

The Prospects for Fernando Torres are dependant on if his move to the MLS comes to pass.
This is more a wait and see with Torres being linked to three different MLS Clubs, this reporter would like to think, two of those Clubs are New York City FC and Orlando City SC.
His price point in the MLS Fantasy game will also be of interest too, to those interested in taking a chance on the Spanish International.
