Andraz Struna is New York City's, latest recruit as they look to bed him in for the MLS 2017 off-season and in time to be adjusted to Patrick Vieira's style of play for the 2018 regular season.
On 6th of September this year, New York City FC announced that they had signed Struna, after the defender had failed to agree a contract extension with Scottish outfit Hearts.
The Slovenian after signing for "The Blues" has turned out 5 times since signing from Hearts.
THE HISTORY
Struna made his professional debut for Portoroz Piren in 2006 making zero appearances.From Piren for the 2007/08 season, he would move to Koper in Slovenia, where in 58 appearances, he would score one goal.
For the 2010/11 season Struna would move to Poland and Cracovia (Krakow), where again in 50 appearances for the Polish side, he would score 1 goal. For the 2013 season to the end of the 2016 season, Andraz Struna would spend his time in Greece with PAS Giannina F.C., his most consistent time of his playing career. Making 82 appearances for the Greek side.
THE PROSPECTS
The Prospects for Andraz Struna look good in both MLS and MLS Fantasy next season, because he is already bedding into the style of soccer in MLS and how Patrick Vieira like to play with NYCFC.In terms of MLS Fantasy next season, perhaps it is a wait and see with Andraz Struna to see how he adapts to the style of play in MLS and the way of life in America.
